Jean Valjean

One of the most annoying things that I ever have to do is have the same conversation with the same person over and over. You know, like you talk about something with someone, and then later on, you make a reference to that discussion, but they don't remember having that discussion, so they continue on with the discussion just like the first one had never taken place. The worst is when this happens and they've taken your ideas from the first conversation and have now incorporated them into their story, so you're left with nothing to say. And I don't want to be rude and be like "Uh, we already talked about this" but I kinda do just the same. Seriously, just so everyone knows from now on, if I have a conversation with you and I make a reference to it and you go off like the initial discussion never took place, I'm totally gonna call you on it. And if I do the same thing, let me know, because I realize how annoying that can be.

OK, now that that's over...

My little sister was named Chorale member of the year last night, and I had to find out in the fricking Dispatch. But congrats nonetheless, and everyone who has her number should call her and tell her good job.

Benedict XVI. Huh. Interesting. The guy's 78. I give him 8 years tops. Probably fewer. I would have more to say on this, but I think I'm still in shock that they picked on the second day. Can you say "fixed"?

I'm going to see "The Interpreter" this weekend, so it better be good.

I have Old Testament tonight, which should be a good time. And by "good time" I mean... "not". Oh, another gross 43-year-old Presbyterian minister story: So we're talking about Song of Solomon again, and she mentions how "feet" was a euphemism for "genitals" and everyone felt really awkward, and then somebody in the back HAD to bring up Jesus washing the Disciple's feet. (Don't worry, it's a different language, and in Greek it doesn't have the same connotation.) Either way, that effectively ruined the rest of that night.

Free ice cream cone day at Ben and Jerry's. I hope I have time to get down there for it.

That's all I got for now.

Peace out.

haha yeah that same issue with the feet came up in my bible class i laughed number two it's not a bad thing that the new pope is old because this means it will be a higher turnover rate with more opportunities for more opinions and more opportunities for improvement?

Thanks, it's good to be here. I enjoyed your entry. It wasn't boring to me at all. I guess because I can relate. I have also experienced this syndrome, when someone doesn't recall a previous conversation. And it is quite unbelievable when they pass along your own ideas. Unlike you, when think happens to me, I don't confront, I ignore.

But there is a problem with ignoring. The other person tends to think you are aloof and spaced out, all the while you are thinking to yourself; "This person is in idiot. I told him/her this same thing only a month or two ago."

Even worse is when this happens around someone of authority, like my boss. He says: "Why does it take you so long to respond? What are you on some kind of delay?"

I used to respond with some non-commitial catch phrase. But now I'm gonna say; "Wash my feet!"
