On my own:The rainbow connection

Well dad got on the road yesterday and arrived back in Brainerd today. Thus, I am on my own. Well, as on my own as my friends will let me be. Here's some pics of dad's work before he left yesterday and some of my color choices from today.

Warning: no new pictures tomorrow, but I'll have full-color updates after the painting party on Monday!

The Last Crusade: Renovation days 5 and 6

Today ended the bulk of my renovations! (Or at least the ones to make the house livable) Dad leaves tomorrow morning, and after that I'm on my own.

It's hard to imagine how much we've done in the last 6 days. Oh so much! I am forever grateful for my dad being able to come down for the week and make himself a slave to my investment. I just hope that as I continue to work on projects I can keep up his level of quality.

I will continue to post pictures of projects as I finish them, they just won't be as frequent. Here's the house as it stood this evening:

The Metamorphosis: Acts I and II

So, in case you hadn't yet heard, I finally have a house! And I'm renovating it! For the last two days and the next two, my dad, a half dozen friends, and I are in the process of making the house livable. Progress has been made, here's how things have progressed over the last two days.

Windows

After inspecting the house, my dad decided the windows should all be replaced. Since I built into my loan a contingency for things like this, we've been working on getting that done. Here are the new windows throughout the house:

New dining room window

New windows in front bedroom

New laundry window
